Save the water-heater model, a photo of its label, the manual and the contact you use for work. Keep the precise location with the equipment.

Keep the request and replies together.

A tenant can report the issue with photos and access notes. Follow the conversation, propose a visit and record the response and outcome.

Keep a record for later.

Save the work note and expense receipt. Record rent received separately, including partial payments, so the figures reflect what you have entered.

Does local guidance cover every state?

No. US home records, dollars and local formats are supported; regional guidance currently covers California, New York State and New York City. Check the requirements where your property is.

Does Housetold automatically match my bank payments?

No. Rent can be recorded manually or imported from a supported CSV. Housetold does not currently collect rent or verify it against a bank connection.
