Request account deletion.
Account deletion information · 12 September 2026
How to make a request
Email [email protected] from the email address connected to your Housetold account. Tell us that you want to delete your account. Do not include your password, sign-in code or payment-card details.
If you cannot use the email address on your account, explain that in your message. We will need to verify that the request belongs to you before making a deletion change.
Remove information while keeping your account
You can also email [email protected] to request deletion of specific information without closing your account. Identify the home and records concerned, such as a photo, document, contact detail or identity check. Do not email identity-document photographs or passwords. We will verify your request and explain any shared records or legal retention that affect what can be removed. Other people's independently created records are not deleted simply because they concern the same home.
What happens next
We review requests daily. A request is not complete until ownership and the records affected have been checked. There is no automatic email or fixed completion date: some shared-property records need a careful review so we can remove your information without deleting another person’s work.
Once a request is accepted, access to the account is blocked while the deletion is completed. If a record needs review, we keep the request open and do not describe the account as deleted until that review is complete.
What deletion covers
Deletion removes your login, homes you own and their files, private messages and personal contact details. It also removes your attributable contributions and uploaded originals from another person’s home. Independently authored records and files belonging to other people remain. Where older or mixed records do not clearly show who contributed each part, we review them before completing the request.
Records that may remain for a time
Completed deletion receipts and minimal account/home references expire after 30 days. This is not a 30-day limit for all backups, cached copies, security logs or records held by service providers. Exported or separately saved copies remain under the control of the person who saved them.
Subscriptions
Deleting a Housetold account does not cancel a store subscription. Cancel an Apple subscription through your Apple Account subscription settings, or a Google Play subscription through Google Play subscriptions. If you need help finding the right setting, include this in your email.
